Deed Book 340, page 419 & 420 Natahniel Dunham THE SUPREME EXECUTIVE COUNCIL OF THE COMMONWEALTH OF PENNSYLVANIA TO ALL TO WHOM THESE PRESENTS SHALL COME, GREETING: KNOW YE, That in Consideration of the monies paid by Nathaniel Dunham into the Reciever Generals Office of this Commonwealth at the granting of the warrant hereinafter mentioned there is granted by the said Commonwealth unto said Nathaniel Dunham A certain tract of land called "Sherwood" situate on Ruffs Creek in Washington County BEGINNING at an Ironwood tree in the said Creek thence along the same south seventy degrees DEGREES east forty three perches to a post on the bank thereof thence by land of Henry Ross south sixty degrees east thirty six perches to a Willow tree north thirty five degrees east forty one perches to a White Oak north twenty four degrees eastforty perches to a white oak and north twenty one degrees east seventy two perches to a post thence by land of Zephaniah Johnston east one hundred perches to a black oak thence by land of Paul Brown south thirty five degrees west sixty eight perches to a white oak south thirty degrees east sixty nine perches to a post and north seventy two degrees east ten perches to a white oak thence by land of James Bell south eight degrees west eighty six perches to a white oak thence by William Lees Claim south fifty four degrees west eighty one perches and a half to a sugar tree north sixty eight degrees west seventy eight perches to an Hickory and south thirty nine degrees west fourteen perches and a half to a post thence by land of Samuel House north sixty one degrees west one hundred and twenty three perches to a white oak thence by said Henry Ross's land north twenty one degrees east sixty eight perches to the place of Beginning. CONTAINING Two hundred and fifteen acres and a half and allowance of six Pr cent for Roads &ca with the appurtenances ( which said tract was surveyed in pursuance of a warrant granted to the said Nathaniel Dunham dated the first day of October 1787) TO HAVE AND TO HOLD, The said Tract or Parcel of Land, with appurtenances, unto the said Natahniel Dunham & his heirs to the use of him the said Nathaniel Dunham his heirs and assigns forever. FREE AND CLEAR of all Restrictions and Reservations, as to Mines, Royalties, Quit-Rents or otherwise, excepting and reserving only one fifth part of all Gold and Silver Ore for the use of Commonwealth, to be delivered to Pit's mouth, clear of all charges. IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the Honorable Peter Muhlenberg Esqre Vice President of the Supreme Executive Council, hath hereto set his hand and caused the State Seal to be hereto affixed, in Council, the twenty ninth day of September in the year of our LORD one thousand seven hundred and eighty eight, and of the Commonwealth the Thirteenth ATTEST: Chas.
