Deed Book 2, page 296 1/2 & 297 Greene County, PA William Gapen to Lewis Donham THIS INDENTURE made the twenty eight_ day of July in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and seven, BETWEEN WILLIAM GAPEN and SARAH his wife of the one part, and LEWIS DONHAM of the other part, both of Greene township, Greene County & State of Pennsylvania. WITNESSETH that the said William Gapen and Sarah his wife, for and in consideration of the sum of eighty four dollars and twenty five cents to them in hand paid, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, the said William Gapen and sarah his wife have granted, bargained and sold, and by these presents do grant, bargain and sell unto the said Lewis Donham his heirs and assigns part of a tract of land called the white oak flat, on the waters of big Whiteley Creek in County and State aforesaid, patented to George Debolt the 25th: day of October in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and eighty seven, part of which has been transferred by said George Debolt to said William Gapen the sixteenth day of June one thousand eight hundred and six. BEGINNING at a post corner of John Herrington's lots, thence by big road North eighty nine and a half degrees East seventeen perches and one link to a post, thence by land of William Gapen South one degree West thirty eight perches and one link to a post, thence by land of Nathaniel Knotts South sixty degrees West five perches and eight links to a white oak, thence by land of said Nathaniel Knotts South eighty eight degrees West eleven perches and nine links to a post, thence by lands of Isaac Grey and John Herrington North one degree East forty perches and six links to the BEGINNING containing four acres and forty eight perches strict measure with all the appartnances hereunto belonging to the only proper use and behalf of Lewis Donham and his heirs, and the said William Gapen and Sarah his wife shall and will forever warrant & defend the said four acres and forty eight perches of land unto said Lewis Donham his heirs or assigns by these presents.
