Deed Book 10, page 510 Deed Lewis Lantz surviving Exr Peter Engles Decd. to Job Dunham This Indenture made this fifth day of June A.D. 1845 between Lewis Lantz Surviving Excutor of the last will and testament of Peter Engle deceased late of Greene County and State of Pennsylvania of the one part and Job Donham of the same County and State of the other part. Whereas the said Peter Engle by his last Will and testament made and Executed the first day of February A.D. 1832 did among other things devise to his wife Susannah the real Estate of which he should die seized to use occupy and enjoy and dispose of during the period of her natural and further directed that the proceeds thereof upon her decease should be divided and distributed agreeably to the manner therein mentioned. And Whereas by divers conveyances and Assurances duly had and Executed the said Peter Engles in his lifetime became seized in his desmesnse as of fee of and certain real estate situate Monongahela Twonship in the County and State aforesaid which under the said Will & testament of said deceased become vested in the aforesaid Susannah to use enjoy occupy and dispose of during the ? of her natural life And Whereas by divers other conveyances and assurancesduly made and Executed during the lifetime of the said Susannah She became possessed for the use and the term aforesaid of certain real estate situate as aforesaid being of the Estate of the said Peter Engle deceased ( The proceeds of the Estate of which he died seized as aforesaid having beeen vested therein) And of which the said Susannah died possessed. The said real Estate being situate in the Town of Greensboro in the County and State aforesaid situate and bounded as follows viz: Beginning at the Corner of Second and County Streets thence down County Street so as to come opposite the Center of the Well; thence through the Center of the Well to the back part of the lot paralel with second Street to Lot No 39. thence up the line between Nos. 39 and 40 to second Street, thence along Second Street to the Place of beginning It being lot No. 40 in the original plan of said Town on which there are erected a frame house log Shop and other improvements. And Whereas the said Lewis Lantz surviving Executor as aforesaid in pursuance of the directions contained in the last Will and testament of Peter Engle deceased did Expose the said lot of ground with the appurtenances to public Sale on the premises on the tenth day of October A.D. 1843 and sold the same to Jonathan Knotts for the sum of forty Eight Dollars he bieng the highest and best bidder. Whereupon it was agreed between the said Jonathan Knotts and Job Donham that all the rights and priviledges of the said purchaser in and to the said lot of ground should accrue to and vest in the said Job Donham his heirs and assigns on the payment of the said sum of forty Eight Dollars by the said Donham his heirs and assigns to the surviving Executor aforesaid and that on the deed performance of such Stipulation the conveyance for said lot of ground should be made by the Executor aforesaid to the said Job Donham his heirs and assigns. Now This Indenture Witnesseth that the said Lewis Lantz surviving Executor aforesaid for and in consideration of the said sum of forty Eight Dollars to him in hand paid by the said Job Donham at and before the ensealing & delivery of these presents the receipt whereof he does hereby acknowledge and thereof acquit and forever discharge the said Job Donham his heirs and assigns by these presents hath granted, bargained, sold, aliened, release and confirmed and by these presents by virtue of the power and authority given him by the said last Will and testament doth grant, bargain, Sell, alien, release, and confirm unto the said Job Donham his heirs and assigns the said lot of ground herein particularly described Together with all and singular houses buildings,rights, liberties hereditaments and appurtenances whatsoever thereunto belonging or in anywise appertaining and the reversions & remainders rents issues and profits thereof_ And also all the Estate right, title, interest, property, claim and demand whatsoever thereunto of the said Peter Engle deceased in his lifetime or to any part of the proceeds of such real estate of which he may have died seized To Have and To Hold the said lot of ground and hereditaments and premises hereby granted mentioned or intended so to be with the appurtenances unto the said Job Donham his heirs and assigns forever. And the said lewis lantz Executor as aforesaid for himself his Executors and Administrators do covenant, promise, grant and agree to and with the said Job Donham his heirs and assigns by these presents that he the said Lewis Lantz Executor aforesaid hath not done or committed any act matter or thing whatsoever whereby the premises hereby granted or any part thereof is are, or shall be or may be impeached, charged or incumbent in title charge or estate or otherwise howsoever. In testimoney whereof the said granting party of the first part hath hereunto set his hand and seal the day and year first before writtten. Lewis Lantz Sealed and delivered in presence of Wm. Be it remembered that on the fifth day of June A.D. 1845 before me one of the Justices of the Peace in and for said County personally came Lewis Lantz and acknowledged the foregoing Indenture to be his act and deed and desired the same might be recorded as such according to law- In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the day and year above written.
