Deed Book 8, page 60 Greene County, PA Ezra Engles to John Dunham This Indenture made and entered into this the thirty first day of March one thousand eight hundred and thirty four. By and between Ezra Engles and Nancy his wife of the town of Greensburg Greene County and State of Pennsylvania of the one part and John Dunham of the County and State aforesaid of the other part. Witnesseth That for and in consideration of the sum of eight hundred and fifty Dollars to them in hand paid the receipt of which he hereby acknowledges hath sold and by these presents doth sell, transfer, confirm and convey unto the said John Dunham a certain tract or parcel of land laying on the water of Dunkard Creek in Monongahela township adjoining Lands of John Minor, John Sycks, George Yeager and others. Beginning at a white oak thence by Land of John Minor, North forty three and a half degrees, west ninety eight perches to a white oak north sixty six west twenty one perches to a stone. North twenty four. East thirteen perches to a Stone. North sixty six West sixty six to a red oak south twenty four. West thirteen perches to a black oak, north sixty six west forty nine perches to a white oak. Thence by land of Enoch South, south seventeen, west one hundred and eighteen perches thence north thirty three. east thurty three perches and two tenths by land of John Sycks, thence by land of said Sycks south eighty one, east one hundred and thirty nine perch to a white oak. South thirty East fifteen perch to a stone Thence by Land of George Yeager south eighty seven east sixty two perch to place of Beginning Containing eighty six acres and one hundred and thirty three perches Strict measure be the same more or less. To have and to hold the aforesaid tract of Land with appurtenances thereunto belonging to the said John Dunham his heirs or assigns forever. The said Ezra Engles and Nancy his wife hereby obligate themselves to warrant and defend the right and title to the premises hereby intended to be conveyed free from all persons and claims forever. Personally appeared before the subscriber one of the Justices of the peace in and for the County aforesaid, Ezra Engles and Nancy his wife and acknowledged the within Indenture to be their and each of their act and deed and desired the same as such might be recorded according to law she the said Nancy being seperate and apart from her said husband by me examined and the full contents of the said Indenture unto to her made known. Whereupon she did declare that she did voluntarily and of her own free will and accord seal and deliver the same without any concern or compulsion of her said husband whatever.
