Deed Book 1, page 91 Greene County, PA Deed of Performance James Carmichael to William Seaton This Indenture made this sixteenth day of October one thousand seven hundred & ninety four By & between James Carmichael of Cumberland Township County of Washington and State of Pennsylvania of the one part & William Seaton of the County & State aforesaid of the other part Witnesseth, that for and in consideration of the sum of nineteen Pounds sixteen shillings and six pence lawful money, by the said William Seaton to the said James Carmichael in hand paid before the sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof the said James Carmichael doth hereby acknowledge, the said James Carmichael hath granted, bargained, and sold & by these presents doth grant, bargain, sell, alien, enfeoff, convey & confirm unto the said William Seaton above named his Heirs or assigns for ever two small houses (now occupied by Jno Teator tenant to sd Carmichael) together with a Lott of ground situate upon the waters of Muddy Creek adjoining the Lott of ground upon which the Episcopal Church at sd place is built, begining at a post S 78 E. 6 perches to a post N 6 1/2 E. 10 perches thence to a post N 89 W 12 perches, thence S 30 E. 10 perches to the place of begining, lying and being in the Township & place aforesaid containing eighty two perches of Land more or less and the said James Carmichael for himself, his Heirs, Executors, and Administrators, doth covenant agree and bind each each of them respectively, that he or they, will hereafter at any time or times when requested at the cost and charge of the said William Seaton make seal & fully execute any Deed or Deeds for the more perfectly securing & conveying the aforementioned Lott of Ground with the appertainnances as the said William Seaton his heirs Executors Administrators or Assigns, or his or their Counsel learned in the Law shall or may reasonably ask, devise or require. In Witness whereof the said James Carmichael hath hereunto interchangeably set his hand and seal the day and year first above written.
