February 5, 1862 Another gallant Greene county volunteer is dead. Wm. Evans, a private in the Ringgold Cavalry, and a brother to Lieut. L. K. Evans, died in the hospital at Washington city, a few days since, of typhoid fever. His remains were brought home by his brother and interred by a large concourse of relatives and friends.
