Part 2, Section 6-9: ROSEMONT Cemetery, Rogersville, Center Twp, Greene Co, PA File submitted for use in the USGenWeb Archives by: Bonnie Van Orden bonniev@rcvideo.com ******************************************************** USGENWEB NOTICE: These electronic pages may NOT be reproduced in any format for profit or presentation by any other organization or persons. Persons or organizations desiring to use this material, must obtain the written consent of the contributor, or the legal representative of the submitter, and contact the listed USGenWeb archivist with proof of this consent. ********************************************************* Rosemont Cemetery is located on Rt. 18, east of Rogersville. Since the cemetery is large and rows are not easily determined, readings are being grouped in sections roughly defined by the roadways. Each entry represents one gravestone or one funeral home marker where there is no stone. Entries in quotation marks are inscriptions other than names or military service. Comments are in parentheses. An asterisk * indicates that the name also appears in the burial records for Rosemont published by Dorothy T. Hennen, Waynesburg, Pa., in "Cemetery Records of Greene County, Pennsylvania", Vol. 2, 1975, Center Twp., pp. 84-109. Military Markers are bronze medals placed near the stone with a designationof the period of service. ********************************************************* Section 6 The current section was recorded July 20, 2000 and is the sixth in the set of readings to be submitted. This section continues the readings west of the second entrance beginning with the row west of the row in line with the utility pole on Rt. 18. Four to six rows were recorded each beginning at Rt. 18 and extending to the roadway at the back of the cemetery which is parallel to Rt. 18. The last row is along the third entrance to the cemetery from Rt. 18. In this section, there were two unreadable stones next to the monument for John and Mary J. Hunnell, and one broken funeral home marker next to the stone for Ignatius Lavigne in the last row.
