Miss Emaline Reeves, one of the well known women of Cumberland township, died Saturday. January 19, at her home on Muddy creek. She was aged 72 years and had been ill over four months with a complication of diseases. Miss Reeves was a daughter of John and Cassie Anderson Reeves, deceased, and was born February 26, 1845, on the farm where she died and where she had spent her entire life. She was a charter member of the Muddy Creek Presbyterian church and was very regular in her attendance. She is survived by two brothers and three sisters: William Reeves, of Fordyce; Newton Reeves, of Missouri; Miss Margaret Reeves, Miss Eliza Reeves and Mrs. Elizabeth Schroy, of Muddy creek. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon. Short services were held at the late home at 1 o=92clock after which the body was taken to the Muddy Creek Presbyterian church where the memorial sermon was delivered by the Rev. I. K. Teal, pastor of the Muddy Creek Presbyterian church. Interment in the Muddy creek cemetery. (note: cemetery books place the year of death as 1918.)
