Huntingdon, Pa. Fireman: Born at Altoona, Pa., May 30, 1897, early schooling at Altoona, Pa., of German descent., his father being Max Altmanshoffer, Sr., a farmer residing in Porter township, Huntingdon Co., Pa. His mother was Margaret Fike. She came from Germany. Both parents are living. Max Altmanshoffer, Jr., attended the Valley School in Hartslog Valley for three years. Moved from Altoona to Hartslog Valley in 1912. He was employed at the Powder Plant at Mt. Union, Pa., as carpenter. Was a dairyman at Huntingdon, Pa., for three years. 1214 Washington Street, Huntingdon, Pa. Has been a fireman at the Huntingdon Specialty Co. for the past six years. In politics a Republican. He has one brother William, a farmer, Hartslog Valley, Huntingdon Co., Pa. He was married to Margaret Dallard. Three sisters, Mrs. Mary Trimer, Huntingdon, Pa., Helen Myers, Huntingdon, Pa., and Hettie Shope Boltz, Indiana Co., Pa. Max Altmanshoffer, Jr. was married to Theresa Shingler, a daughter of John and Mary Shingler, both living at Rock Hill, Huntingdon Co., Pa.; one daughter, Madaline, was six years of age Sept. 21st, 1929; one son, William, eight years. They reside at 1214 Washington St., Huntingdon, Pa. Mr. Altmanshoffer is a good citizen, well respected in the community.
