BAKER Huntingdon, Pa. Contract Painter: Born at Alexandria, Pa., Sept. 25, 1865. A son of G. L. S. Baker, a retired Civil War veteran, who served in an Indiana regiment, eighty- nine years of age. His wife was Lydia Isenberg, who died in 1928, at the age of eighty seven years. Ard B. Baker attended the Second and Fourth Ward schools; also Juniata College, and early in his school career attended Colgate's school in Hill Valley, Huntingdon County, Pa. For forty years he has been a contract painter. Among the various contracts he has executed may be named the following: Union National Bank, First M. E. Church, both of Huntingdon, Pa.; also the Public Library at Alexandria, Pa. He specializes on interior decoration. He belongs to the First M. E. Church; wife also; he is a trustee; attends Sunday School. Is a member of the P.O.S. of A., Camp 321, Huntingdon, Pa., The Elks, No. 976; Knights of Pythias and Chamber of Commerce. Served on Second Ward election board. He has five brothers: Rev. Harry W., M. E. minister, Sacramento, Calif.; Rev. Frank K., M. E. minister, Sacramento, Calif.; Oscar R., a painter, Huntingdon, Pa.; Charles M, a painter, Huntingdon, Pa.; Fred K., Postmaster, Wilkinsburg, Pa. He has sisters: Laura, married to Porter Prough, retired, Huntingdon. Pa.; Lulu, married to George Kyper, retired, Huntingdon, Pa.; Fannie, married to Chalmers Norris, Assistant Superintendent Silk Mill, Huntingdon, Pa. Ard B. Baker was married to Ida C. Beaver, daughter of F.O. Beaver, dealer in memorials. Both her parents are deceased. Mr. Baker's hobby is music.
