B. BARD Shirleysburg, Pa. Assistant Engineer: Born at Shirleysburg, Huntingdon County, Pa., October 10, 1880. At Shirleysburg he began his early schooling. A son of William H. Bard; he was a Civil War veteran; his wife was Mary (Nelson) Bard. F. B. Bard was a cigarmaker for G. W. Miller, of Shirleysburg, for twelve years, and has been assistant engineer for fourteen years, at the Tuscarora Oil Company, who conduct a pumping station at Aughwick. He formerly was a school director; is now a councilman at Shirleysburg, Pa. Has filled all positions on the election board. During the World War was employed at the pumping station as assistant engineer. He belongs to the Knights of Pythias, Huntingdon, Pa. A Republican in politics. Has three brothers: Bruce P., a farmer, Love's Valley; Harry L., a blacksmith, Shirleysburg, Pa., and David, a merchant, Shirleysburg, Pa. F. B. Bard was married to Lula M. Harris, a daughter of T. J. Harris. One son, Lawrence M. Bard, a fireman at pumping station; four daughters: Freda, a trained nurse, graduated Altoona Hospital, June 1992. Evelyn, a graduate of Zeth Business College; Elinor, attending High School, Mount Union, Pa., a junior; Dorothy, twelve years, at High School, Mount Union, Pa. Mr. Bard is a pleasant, agreeable man. His home is at Shirleysburg, Pa. Note: The 1930 Huntingdon census lists Frank D. and Lulu Bard, the 1910 lists Frank D. and Lula Bard; the 1900 Huntingdon census lists D. Frank Bard.
