Merchant: Guy Henry Bigley was born at Shirleysburg, Pa., May 9, 1878. He began his early schooling at Hill Valley, where the family resided. A son of James A. Bigley, who was a butcher for eight years at Tyrone, Pa., owned his place of business, and died in 1910 at the age of fifty-two years. His wife was Ellen Dell, a daughter of Henry Dell, who resided at Hill Valley, Huntingdon County, Pa. He died in 1897, aged thirty-four years. Guy Henry Bigley also attended the Spruce Creek schools and Juniata College. He has been in the butchering business at Spruce Creek, and in 1897 established himself in the mercantile business and has since followed this business. Has been on school board of Spruce Creek for seven years, served on the election board, and attends the Presbyterian church. Belongs to the Masonic fraternity, Tyrone; a Shriner, Jaffa Temple, Altoona, Pa.; Williamsport Consistory, I.O.O.F., No. 187, Tyrone; Jr. O.U.A.M., No. 42, Tyrone. Has two sisters, Maude, married to F. R. McGlinsey, Juniata, an engineer; Dora, married to Leonard Dell, Anderson, Indiana, a carpenter. One brother deceased, Ira, three years of age. Guy Henry Bigley was married to Blanche Keefer, a daughter of John and Mary Keefer, of Birmingham, Pa. They have two sons, Harold, finished Spruce Creek schools, Tyrone high school, a senior at Dickinson College; Wilbur, at home, at school. One daughter, Mary E.; finished Spruce Creek schools, graduated from Tyrone High School, also Indiana State Normal, now teaching for the second year at Tyrone Junior High. Taught two years at Blair Four, Blair County, Pa.
