With Stowe-Fuller Co.: He was born at Spruce Creek, June 6, 1894, a son of Harry Brindle, who died in 1899, who was married to Naomi Reeder; she remarried to G. B. McCarty, a blacksmith with the signal corps, Penna. R.R. Daniel Brindle's father died when he was five years of age. He attended the Spruce Creek schools for one year, and the Barree schoools for ten years; he has been with the Stowe-Fuller Refractories Co. for twelve years. He was a volunteer in the World War; enlisted at Huntingdon, Pa., in 1917; was sent to Hancock, Ga.; assigned to Co. F. 8th Reg., 28th Division, for eight months, was then assigned to Co. F, 112th Division; went to Camp Upton, Long Island, N.Y.; there for four months; thence to Aberdeen, Md., proving ground; there for eleven months; was a teamster. Discharged at Aberdeen, Md., with a service of twenty-three months. He is a member of the W. P. Spyker American Legion Post, No. 580, Alexandria, Pa., Votes the Republican ticket. He has six brothers: Harry, in United States Service; Alfred, married to Mary Hutchison; Raymond, Petersburg, Pa., married to Rebecca Crawford; Rolland and Chester are at home; Donald attends school at Alexandria; one brother, Elmer, was killed in France, in the World War; was wounded and died in a hospital; body was brought home for burial. Mr. Brindle has four sisters: Ethel, married to Milton Gensimer, Union Furnace; Mary, to Wm. Rye, Tyrone, Pa.; Leona, to Wm. C. Hoffmaster, Barree, Pa.; Isabel, attends school at Alexandria High School.
