Commissioners' Clerk: Another native born son is Mr. Charles Elliott Brown, who hails from Franklinville, Huntingdon Co., Pa. He was born at Franklinville, Nov. 7, 1887, and has spent a major part of his life at the above named place. At the rural schools, Franklin township, he learned his A.B.Cs. David C. Brown was his father, his mother being before marriage Lillian E. Keatly; his father is deceased, died in 1917. His mother still resides at Franklinville. After spending some time in Franklin township at school, he attended Juniata College in 1908. He has taught schools in Spruce Creek, Morris and Franklin townships, for eleven terms From 1909 to 1922 he followed the general merchandise business, at Franklinville; at present he is Clerk to the County Commissioners, filling the office in an efficient manner. Has been township auditor and school director. Is Superintendent of the Presbyterian Sunday School; also Sunday School teacher. Belongs to P.O.S. of A., Huntingdon, Pa.; Knights of Pythias, Blue Cross Lodge, No. 295, Huntingdon. Is a tried and true Republican. Brothers are Paul E., Spruce Creek; Orlando K., Durham, N.C.; Raymond M., Franklinville; and one sister, Lorena M., student at Shippensburg Normal School. He was married to E. Mae Bonsell, of Spruce Creek. Children are: Clarence Eugene, nine; David Kenneth, five, and Charles Leon, three. Delights in base ball, his favorite sport.
