CHILCOAT Mount Union, Pa. Superintendent: Born at Orbisonia, Pa., July 22, 1882. A son of Joseph F. Chilcoat, a Civil War veteran, Penna. Vol. Inf. A Sergeant of the Cavalry and Infantry branch of the service. He died in 1915, at the age of eighty- seven years. George W. Chilcoat began his early schooling at the Jefferson School in Cromwell Township, Huntingdon County, Pa. He later on attended the Rock Hill Normal School, a preparatory school for teachers. Taught two terms in Cromwell Township. Had previously been associated with the Westinghouse Machine Company as Shop Clerk; Inspector for Western Electric Company., of materials: Paymaster for Yohn Coal Company, Altoona, Pa.; clerical work for Penna. R.R. at Pittsburgh, Pa. Commenced with Mount Union Wood Preserving Company in 1910 as clerk. Is now its superintendent. He and his wife belong to the Presbyterian Church; also sons and daughter. At present is Borough Auditor of Mount Union, Pa. During the World War was engaged at Mount Union plant. A member of American Wood Preservers. He is a Republican. Has one brother, Jacob, who resides at Orbisonia, Pa. Three brothers are deceased: Samuel, Augustus and Lincoln. He has four sisters: Hannah, Blanche, Hester and Naomi. Two are deceased, Catharine and Jennie. George W. Chilcoat was married to Pearl Montague, daughter of Robert and Minerva Montague. Two sons of this union, Robert F., Mount Union, Pa.; Wendell Montague, with Merchants and Miners Transportation Company, Philadelphia, Pa. Jean C., at home, attending school, twelve years of age; one daughter deceased. Mr. Chilcoat is a thoroughly experienced man in this business.
