G. DAVID Union Township, Huntingdon Co., Pa. S. G. David was raised and born on a farm, January 18, 1865, in Union township. Attended the schools of Union township, a son of Jacob David, and of Susan Jane (Smith) David, a daughter of Dr. Andrew Smith. Jacob David died in 1918, aged eighty years. His wife preceded him to the grave; died in 1913, aged seventy-five years. S. G. David was a blacksmith; followed the business for thirty-five years in Union township, and for the last six years has been assisting his son on the farm, where he resides. He, as well as the family, are Methodists, he being a trustee. He has served on election board; a Republican generally. Has two brothers: Victor L., married to Mary Dickson; Charles O., married to Ida Livingstone. Sisters are Loroko, married to Isaac Oakman; both are deceased; Ettie, married to Adam Dell, Mapleton Deport; Rachel, married to Dan Chilcote, a guard at the Huntingdon Reformatory. Three sisters are deceased, Dora, Martha and Lizzie. S. G. David was married to Grace Bryan daughter of Edward and Elizabeth Bryan, of Petersburg, Pa.; both are deceased. They have one son, Roy A., married to Margaret Arnold, McClure, Pa. He has a farm of 200 acres, and specializes on dairy and truck. They have three sons, Charles, Clyde, and Marlyn; two daughters, Eva and Ethel. Mr. and Mrs. S.G. David also have a daughter, Gretta V., at home. Mr. David has always lived an honorable and respected life, and is well known throughout this section. Note: Listed as Grant David in the 1930, 1920 and 1880 Union Township, Huntingdon County census.
