ALBERT E. DAVIS Huntingdon, Pa. Minister Baptist Church: Rev. Albert E. Davis was born in Philadelphia, Pa., on January 22, 1879, a son of Rev. Edward Davis, who was a primitive Methodist minister for twenty-two years. He died in 1924, at the age of seventy-nine years. He married Annie Davies, deceased, who died Dec. 1, 1929. Rev. Davis' primary education was obtained at Philadelphia, Pa., at the grade and high schools. He took special work at Temple University, that bulwark of learning which Dr. Russell H. Conwell made famous. These courses were in 1910 to 1914. In 1912 he took up a commercial course with the Peirce Business College, Philadelphia, Pa., and later on a correspondence course with Crozier Theological Seminary at Upland, Pa. He commenced his ministerial career at Olivet Baptist Church, Philadelphia, Pa., for one year, and for three years was at Phillipsburg, New Jersey; also at Hamburg, New Jersey, for three years; Doylestown, Pa. for three years; followed by Scranton, Pa., for four years, from which place he came to Huntingdon, Pa., in 1928, succeeding Dr. Madison Hare. During the World War he held a pastorate at Hamburg, N.J., in Sussex Co. He is a member of the P.O.S. of A., Huntingdon, Pa.; Jr. O.U.A.M., Hamburg, New Jersey, and the County Ministerial Association. As to politics, he believes in the principles of the Republican party. He has one brother, Herbert, who resides at Philadelphia, Pa. two brothers died in infancy. He has two sisters: Agnes, married to Harry Hingley, Philadelphia, Pa.; Maude, married to Wm. Kearney, Philadelphia, Pa. Two sisters are deceased. Rev. Albert E. Davis was married to Rebecca Wright, a daughter of Alfred and Martha L. Wright; both are deceased. Rev. Davis is well versed in the tenets of the church, and expounds the gospel in its true meaning. He is a mighty force in maintaining peace, law and order in the community where he resides.
