He was then appointed a Rural Mail Carrier from the Mapleton Depot Postoffice, September 1, 1909, and served until January 1, 1921, when he received the appointment as Postmaster, and has held this office since. He is a member of the Methodist Church, a trustee; his wife belongs to the same church. He is a member of the Sunday School, and has also been treasurer for the past twelve years.
