DONNELLY Mapleton Depot, Pa. Passenger and Freight Agent: He was born at Concord, Franklin Co., Pa., December 21, 1878, and is a son of James Marshall Donnelly, who died October 7, 1921, at Mapleton, Pa., and of Hannah (Bratton) Donnelly, who died February 2, 1924. She was of Scotch-Irish descent. The grandfather was Rev. Wm. Donnelly, a Methodist minister. In Fannett Township, Franklin Co., Pa., Orlando G. Donnelly began his schooling; later on at Mifflin Academy at Mifflintown, Juniata County, Pa.; also at Airy View Academy at Port Royal, Juniata Co., Pa. He devoted one year to the life insurance business. He received an appointment with the Penna. R.R. Co. as clerk at Mifflin in 1902. He was first appointed at Granville in 1903; was then transferred to Birmingham, Pa., in 1905, following that to Union Furnace in 1909. Promoted to Altoona Middle Division office in 1909. He remained there for a period of ten years, after which he was given charge of Mapleton Depot, Huntingdon Co., Pa., where he has served since. He is a Presbyterian; his wife also is a member of that church. He has served as elder at Birmingham, Pa.; the First Presbyterian Church of Altoona, Pa., and also the Mapleton church, and is Superintendent of the Sunday School at Mapleton at the present time. He has served three years as member of the School Board and at present is Secretary. He is a Mason, Mifflintown, Pa., No. 324; also the Harrisburg Consistory, the I.O.O.F., Mapleton, Pa.; No. 468, and of Camp No. 31, P.O.S. of A., of Altoona, Pa. He has four brothers: Samuel B., of New York, married to Mary Kelly; William C., married to Elizabeth McAllister, of Philadelphia, Pa.; George M., married to Christine Sartan, of Riverside, California; Guy C., married to Ethel Pickett. She is deceased, Fairmont, Minn. Orlando G. Donnelly was married to Ambler Hutchison, of Altoona, Pa. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Hutchison. Both are deceased. Mr. and Mrs. Donnelly have one son, George Maxwell Donnelly, ten years of age.
