DRAKE Shirleysburg, Pa. Farmer: Born in Clay township, Huntingdon Co., Pa., Oct. 21, 1876, a son of John M. Drake and Hettie R. (Kough) Drake, deceased. Died in 1927 at the age of seventy years. Fred B. Drake received his education in Clay township and at Juniata College. He taught school for one term, in Clay township. Has been engaged as a farmer. Came from Blair Co., Pa. on March 19, 1929, and located on a farm near Shirleysburg. Has fifty-two acres in cultivation. He has been a school director in Clay township, Huntingdon Co., Pa.; also in Oliver township, Mifflin Co., Pa. Belongs to the Grange of Blair Co., Pa. A Democrat in politics. Two brothers are deceased, C. H. and Frank Drake. Two sisters: Blanche, living in Todd township; Esther, married to C. E. McClure, Cromwell township. Fred B. Drake was married to Ruth Duvall, a daughter of Gideon and Evelyn Duvall. Their children are as follows, family of eleven: Five sons, Gideon, Lewistown, Pa.; Donald, a milk tester for Allegheny Co., Pa.; Wayne, a farmer, Blair Co., Pa.; Malcolm, at school; John M., two years of age. Six daughters: Grace, at Field's Drug Store, Mount Union, Pa.; Mary, in training at Roaring Springs Hospital, Blair Co., Pa.; Isabella, twelve years; Sarah, ten years; Emma, eight years, and Jean, six years. A well respected man in the community where he resides.
