D. ECKFELD Huntingdon, Pa. Manager C. H. Speck Co.: Born at Dennison, Ohio, April 16, 1890, a son of Alvin Eckfeld, a passenger engineer, Penna. R.R., at Dennison, Ohio, for a period of fifty years. Was an engineer at the age of twenty-one years; was a fireman before, being appointed an engineer. His mother before her marriage was Caresta Moore. Both reside at Dennison, Ohio. G. D. Eckfeld received his early schooling at Dennison grade schools, and continued on until his graduation in 1908. Was an electrician for the Pennsylvania R.R. for sixteen years at Dennison, Ohio. At present is manager for the C. H. Speck Co., manufacturers of porch swings., single and double trees and novelties. Located in Smithfield township, Huntingdon Co., Pa. Both he and his wife belong to the First Methodist church and attend the Sunday School. During the World War was with the Custodis Construction Co., government work at Army and Navy base, Brooklyn, N.Y. Belongs to the Masonic Fraternity, Uhrichville, Ohio, No. 94; the Kiwanis Club, Huntingdon, Pa. A Republican. Has five sisters: Laura, married to B. F. Hanst, Corliss Station, Pa., Assistant Supt. Panhandle Division, P.R.R.; Dorothy, married to W. E. Ebner, Carnegie, Pa., a conductor, P.R.R.; Mary, married to D. J. Hayes, Carnegie, Pa., clerk, P.R.R.; Grace, at home, a stenographer, Dennison, Ohio; Josephine, graduate Dennison High School, with highest honors; will enter the Boston Conservatory of Music, taking up pipe organ instruction. G. D. Eckfeld was married to Laura A. Pecht, a daughter of F. O. and Ada Pecht, Dennison, Ohio. Both are deceased. They have one daughter, Sherlie Jean, thirteen years, a Freshman, Huntingdon High School. Note: First name is George, according to the 1930 Huntingdon, Huntingdon County census.
