Merchant: A prominent business man of Mill Creek and up to date in methods that pertain to the selling of merchandise, is Benjamin Rush Faust. He was born at Huntingdon, Pa., and later on the family moved to Mill Creek, where he began his early schooling; also graduated at Mill Creek grade schools and later on attended the Patrick Commercial School at York, Pa., in 1914. A son of Ira Newton and Carrie (McKinnon) Faust, American born, and both living at Mill Creek, Pa. Mr. Benjamin Rush Faust is at present engaged in the general merchandise business at Mill Creek, Pa., and represents leading radio manufacturers, covering a wide territory in the retail trade. Faust's Riverside Park, which is well and favorably known to many, he operates with a dancing pavillion; it has become very popular, with a beautiful view of the Juniata river; here also are found groceries and provisions for campers, tourists, and to those occupying cottages. He is a member of the Mill Creek Methodist Church and the Sunday School. Has served on the election Tank Corps in America and overseas, serving thirteen months in Winchester, England, and Percy-le-Pantel, France. Belongs to Frank L. Homman American Legion Post. Is a Democrat in politics, and Director of the First National Bank of Mapleton Depot. His sisters are Mrs. P.K. Alger, Mrs. E.W. Meisenhelder, Mrs. Henry Hallin, Mrs. J.M. Russell and Mrs. Ray G. Lang. Brothers are Ira N., Jr., Harry and Byron Faust, all living. He was married to Sara M. Freeland at Cambridge Springs, Pa. Two children were born to this union, Benjamin R., Jr., four years, and Freeland, aged eighteen months. Mr. Faust enjoys a large business, built up through keeping abreast of the times, and dealing in fresh and staple provisions.
