Proprietor Mount Union Planing Mill: Charles Henry Fetterolf was born in Adams township, Snyder County, Pa., October 21, 1878. His father was Edward F., who died in 1914. His mother, Jane (Bergey) Fetterolf, of Adams township. Both deceased, of German descent, the mother dying in 1920. Charles Fetterolf received his early schooling in Adams township, Snyder county, Pa., and early in life became interested in the lumber business; in a career of thirty-two years he has followed this business; established his present business in 1912. Several years ago fire destroyed his entire plant, causing him to rebuild, using brick, concrete and other non- inflamable materials for construction. Has been engaged in the lumber business in Huntingdon County, Pa., Shirley township, and in Mifflin county for a period of four years. The business is conducted as the Mount Union Planing Mill Company, of which he is the proprietor. The mill is equipped with all the latest machinery. Plans, estimates, and specifications are furnished, and builders' supplies carried in stock; paints, nails, locks, flooring, siding, rough and dressed lumber, tile, brick, etc. Served in council two terms; belongs to the Lutheran Church and Sunday School. A trustee and chorister. helped along in Liberty Loan, Red Cross and Salvation Army drives. Belongs to I.O.O.F., No. 677, Mount Union, Pa.; Country Club; Director of Chamber of Commerce; is a Republican. Has a brother, Walter P., Centre County, engaged in the rough lumber industry (saw mill); Jacob, at Selinsgrove, Pa., an auto mechanic. Sisters as follows: Mellie Erb, Middleburg, Pa.; Victoria Allison, a widow, at Tampa Florida; Lodie Grof, Cincinnati, Ohio; Mazie Middleworth, Union County, Pa., and Elma Brown, Albany, New York. Mr. Fetterolf was married to Rosa Emma Swartz, Adams township, Snyder County, Pa. Two sons, Marlyn R., married to Mabel Kinsey; reside at Johnstown, Pa.; they have a son four years of age; Richard S., associated with his father in the lumber business at home. Mr. Fetterolf is a man with a smile and enjoys a winter home in Florida.
