FLORA J. GARNER Marklesburg, Pa. Postmistress: Mrs. Flora J. Garner, wife of George Ernest Garner, is the popular Postmistress of Marklesburg, Huntingdon County, Pa., or better known as the James Creek Postoffice. She is the daughter of S.W. Donelson, retired, and Sarah (Norris) Donelson, both living at Marklesburg, Pa. The Garners built the old stone Lutheran Church at Marklesburg over one hundred years ago. Mrs. Flora J. Garner was born at Marklesburg, Pa., and at the public schools of Marklesburg she received the rudiments of an education. Under the Wilson Administration she was appointed postmistress, and has rendered good service to the public. Through her supervision the mail is thoroughly taken care of in a careful and prompt manner. Her husband, George Garner, was a World War man, 151st Inf., Co. C,; enlisted at Huntingdon, Pa.; to Camp Merritt, New Jersey; overseas to Brest, France, in hospital several months; was guarding German prisoners near firing line. Served eleven months; returned to United States; discharged. Mrs. Garner has five sisters: Mary, married to Chester Spyker; Viola, married to Leon Wilson, Huntingdon, Pa.; Bertha, married to Samuel Shultz, Marklesburg, Pa.; Sara, in training for nurse at Blair Memorial Hospital, Huntingdon, Pa.; Elizabeth, married to Randall Brumbaugh, Marklesburg, Pa. One brother, John M., at home, graduated in High School class of 1929. George Garner, her husband, is with the Huston Motor Company, Huntingdon, Pa. Mrs. Garner takes an interest in local affairs, and belongs to the Civic Club.
