REV. HERBERT WILLIAM GLASSCO
Robertsdale, Pa.

Minister:  There is no higher calling one can engage in than that of the 
ministry, the carrying forth of the gospel and the expounding of the word of 
God to the rank and file.  The minister who would go forth to do battle with 
the foes of righteousness does benefit a community, and tends to uphold law 
and order.  Rev. Herbert William Glassco plays his part in helping to shape 
the destinies of his parishioners.  Upon looking over his successful career 
we find that he was born at Tyrone, Pa., May 13, 1900, and thus if you 
figure to 1929 you find him to be a young man in the very midst of a 
successful career.  At Franklin County he began to grasp the first fruits of 
an early schooling.  His parents are of Scotch-Irish.  Rev. Herbert Glassco 
is a learned man of wide vision.  From the Osceola Mills High School in 1918 
we find him a student at Dickinson College, and in 1922 finishing a 
prescribed course.  Drew Theological Seminary, an institution which stands 
high in educational matters and especially along theological lines, gave him 
a farewell in 1924.  Has filled the charge at Conyngham, 1924-26; Ramey, 
1924, and in Robertsdale and Woodvale.  During the World War was in Student 
Army Training Corps, Dickinson College, October 1, 1918, to December 14, 
1918.  He is a Republican in politics.  Was married to Marietta Greist, of 
Osceola Mills, Pa.  Have two children, Joseph Dewitt, four years, and 
Janice, born June 2, 1928.  His college fraternity is (Theta Chi), and hand 
ball and base ball he delights in.
