Merchant: Charles Mitten Goodman is a son of Dr. B. F. Goodman, D.V.S., deceased, who was born February 15, 1842, in Henderson Township, Huntingdon Co., Pa. His parents were Samuel B. and Eliza (Laird) Goodman. Dr. B. F. Goodman was a veterinary surgeon. Charles Mitten Goodman's mother's name prior to her marriage was Louisa Hawn, residing at Mill Creek, Pa. Charles Goodman's education was derived at Mill Creek and Tyrone. Later on in life he entered the general merchandise business and is still engaged in the same. This location has stood for many years. In 1914 he was appointed Postmaster of the office he still holds, giving good service. He has served on the Borough Council and the Election Board; also on the Church Council of the Lutheran Church, and is a Sunday School teacher. Belongs to I.O.O.F., No. 117, Huntingdon, Pa. Adheres to the principles of the Democratic party. Two brothers living, Rollo H., at home, and Chester C., Juniata Co., Pa. Samuel A. and one sister, Mrs. Minnie Souders, are deceased. Mr. Goodman was married to M. M. Carothers, of Mill Creek, Pa. He carries a general line of merchandise of all descriptions and enjoys a large patronage. He is a well known business man, through having been established at Mill Creek many years.
