Farmer and Lumberman: Born at Richvale, April 11, 1891, a son of David Goshorn, a farmer all his life. Died July 1, 1929, at the age of sixty-one years, six months and sixteen days. He was married to Ella Dora Trexler and he is now residing in Shade Valley. Frank Goshorn began his schooling in Tell township. He has been a lumberman for eleven years. Had saw mills of his own; was a fireman on Penna. R.R. for four years, and for two years a fireman for the Tuscarora Valley R.R. He has seven tracts of land, 1235 acres all told. He has been a farmer for the last year. He served in the World War. Enlisted at Huntingdon, Pa.; was sent to Camp Lee, Va.; left on July 15, 1917, for Newport News, on freight boat for Brest, France; was on water fourteen days; after arrival was in rest camp for three days. Left for front to Chateau Thierry; was in action for three months; was gassed. Armistice signed, left for Joef for guard duty; came back to Demoins, there for one month; to St. Nazaire for ten days; left for Brest, France; arrived at Philadelphia; sent to Camp Dix, N.J., for discharge, with a total service of one year. Mr. Goshorn is a member of the A.A.A. A Democrat. He has two brothers; Bruce, a lumberman, Shade Valley; Nevin, a merchant, Waterloo, Juniata Co., Pa. Two sisters: Grace, married to James Shoop, farmers, Dry Run, Franklin Co., Pa. Mary married to James Eaton, Wisconsin.
