LOUIS VANCE GREEN, D.D., P.H.B. Mapleton Depot, Pa. Methodist Minister: The subject of this sketch, Rev. Louis Vance Green, is a recent graduate and an advocate of Methodism, being assigned to the Mapleton and Mill Creek charge. He was born at Altoona, Pa., December 18, 1900, of Welsh-German parentage, a son of Dr. William Aschum Green, a practicing dentist of Altoona, Pa., and Maud Mae (Wenrich) Green. Rev. Green began his schooling at the grade schools in Altoona, Pa., continued at Altoona High, graduating in 1902. Attended Dickinson Seminary, 1921, and in 1925 graduated and received the degree of P.H. B. at Dickinson College, Carlisle. Entered Drew University, receiving degree of D.D., 1929. During his college career has expounded the gospel for a period of five years. Has followed landscape gardening and other useful employment. Was Superintendent of Sunday School, White Haven, Pa.; Vice-President Christian Endeavor Union at Hazelton, Pa.; also did work in connection with church. Daily Vacation Bible School, and for years interested in Boys' Camp at Newton Hamilton, Pa. Belongs to the Masonic Fraternity, Laurel Lodge No. 467, White Haven, Pa.; the P.O.S. of A., Mapleton Deport Camp, No. 59; enrolled with a class of forty-two members, who were admitted to membership May 21, 1929. Belongs to Junior O.U.A.M., Lakemont Terrace. Is a Republican. Brothers are: Dr. Zane A. Green, D.D.S., Altoona, Pa.; William G., New York City, with Standard Oil Company; Richard, at home, high school, aged fifteen years. One sister, Zelda Mae, Philadelphia, Pa. His College Fraternity (Phi Kappa Psi), Dickinson College, (Kappi Delta Phi), Dickinson Seminary, Williamsport, Pa.
