Retired: Is enjoying the fruits of a well spent life. A life of labor, the results of an endeavor to make a success of farming. This he accomplished through making the soil a study and applying that which was necessary to produce a harvest. He was born on a farm in Penn Township, Huntingdon County, Pa., December 24, 1866; schooling in Penn Township. A son of David Grove, a farmer, who died in 1919, aged seventy-four years, and of Emily (Lininger) Grove, a daughter of Jacob and Mary Lininger. She died in 1926, aged sixty-six years. At present Martin Grove is retired, since 1921; farmed all his life. Has served as Supervisor one year, Penn Township. Belongs to Reformed church; also his wife, at Hesston, Huntingdon Co., Pa. Elder for seven years. Is a Democrat. Two brothers, Daniel L., deceased, aged sixty-three, and David H. who died in infancy. Martin Grove was married to Sarah Myers, daughter of Abraham and Catharine Myers, residing in Penn Township, farmers. Have two sons, D. H., married to Grace Boyer, Lincoln Township, Huntingdon County, Pa. They have two daughters, Dorothy May, over one year old; Ethel Grace, thirteen years. Lloyd M., married to Venetta Appleman, Saxton, Pa. They have two daughters, Gladys E., aged eleven years, and Catharine, aged six years. Clara May, married to Wm. Rader, Hesston, Huntingdon County, Pa.
