Farmer: Born January 12, 1852, at Marklesburg, Pa. Received his schooling at Marklesburg, Pa. A son of Daniel Harnish, a shoemaker, who died in 1899, aged eighty years, and resided in Penn Township, a farmer. His wife was Susan Shultz, who died in 1854, twenty-nine years of age. Zachary Harnish is engaged in farming, one hundred and six acres, two tracts. Has been a farmer for twenty-five years. A stonemason for five years. Both he and his wife belong to the Church of God; also attend Sunday School. Has served as Judge of Election in Clay Township, Huntingdon County, Pa. One brother David, aged fifty-two, deceased; wife still living in Ohio. Sisters, Elizabeth, deceased, aged eighty years, married to Benjamin Smith; Martha Heffner, deceased, and Sarah Harnish, deceased. Zachary Harnish was married to Isadora Brown, daughter of Miles and Susan Brown, Saltillo, Pa., who died in 1856, aged twenty-nine years. One son of this union, Emery, of Three Springs, Pa. Mr. Harnish remarried to Sarah Nead, of Clay Township, daughter of Jeremiah and Delilah Nead. One son, John B. married to May Mort, Robertsdale, Pa. Daughters are: Deliah, married to Dr. Horton, Saltillo, Pa.; Blanche, married to Alex. Ramison, Patton, Pa. They have the following children: Alexander, Margurite, Frederick, and Robert. Golda, married to Harry Bruand, Sinking Valley, Huntingdon County, Pa. Their children are: Zachary, Charles, John, Alice, Sadie and Robert. Ruth, another daughter, was married to Ernest Brown; they reside at Robertsdale, Pa. They have two children, Delilah and Donald. Mr. Harnish is one of Clay Townships foremost farmers, and very active for a man of his age.
