R. HARPER Dublin Township, Huntingdon Co., Pa. Farmer: Born January 1, 1885, in Dublin Township, Huntingdon Co., Pa. A son of Robert Harper, a farmer, mostly all his life. He was a Civil War veteran of the 149th Regiment (Bucktails), Penna. Vol. Inf., who died in 1896. He was married to Mary Agnes Peterson, who died in 1893. J. R. Harper's grandfather was William G. Harper; he owned four farms, including the farm on which the subject of this sketch resides. Robert Harper also was on this farm, and for twenty-eight years J. R. Harper has farmed at this location. He belongs to the Presbyterian Church of Shade Gap; his wife also. He prefers the Democratic party. He has three sisters: Sadie, married to Calvin Neal, Pittsburgh, Pa.; Mary, married to Adolphus Kling, Pittsburgh, Pa.; Edith, married to David Lightner, Portage, Cambria Co., Pa. J. R. Harper was married to Bessie Felmlee, a daughter of Moses and Mary Felmlee, of Tell township; both are deceased. Mr. and Mrs. Harper have four sons: Ira and Himes, who attend Orbisonia High School; Wilber, and Donald, fourteen years of age. One daughter died in infancy, Cora Adaline. Mr. Harper, in connection with farming, operates a service station for the convenience of tourists and the public. His farm is near Shade Gap, Huntingdon Co., Pa. Note: James R. (45), Dessie S.
