HAWN Mill Creek, Pa. Service Station: Fred H. Hawn comes from an ancestry that dates back some 150 years ago. Forefathers came from Germany. He was born at Mill Creek. His father was Michael Hawn, who was a guard stationed at Philadelphia, Pa., during the Civil War. He died in 1925, aged eighty-three years. He married Dorothy Hartman, a daughter of Peter Hartman; died in 1884, aged twenty- eight. At present Fred H. Hawn conducts a garage and service station at Mill Creek, Pa.; also confectionery, ice cream, soft drinks, etc.; does automobile repairing, etc. Formerly owned a mill for manufacturing staves for nail kegs, at Cassville, Pa. Both he and his wife belong to the Methodist church, Mill Creek, Pa. He has served on school board, Mill Creek, Pa. During the World War was engaged in manufacturing business. A Republican in political affairs. He was married to Pearl Querry, Hare's Valley, daughter of Miles and Maggie Querry. Has one son, Guy, at home, who assists his father in business. One son deceased; also two daughters, Louise, eight years, at school, and Mary, five years. Mr. Hawn has been engaged in business for years and has, through courteous treatment to patrons, succeeded in building up a patronage that is loyal and dependable.
