Cashier: Orbisonia National Bank. He was born at Orbisonia, Pa., and at the Orbisonia public schools began his early training. A son of Edmund O. Heck, who died in August, 1928, and Annie (Walls) Heck, who died in May, 1929, at Freedom, Ohio. Richard Heck graduated at Lock Haven State Normal, 1912, and finished a course in accountancy at the Penna. Business College, Lancaster, Pa. Taught school four years at Mapleton, Pa., and one year at Robertsdale, Pa. Was with the Penn Auto Company of Lancaster, Pa. Has been cashier of the Orbisonia National Bank for eight years. Auditor for borough of Orbisonia for five years; at present on City Council of Orbisonia, serving second year. Was in World War, Signal Training Battalion, Camp Lee, 305th Field Signal Corps; embarked for France on transport (Mercury); landed at Bordeaux, France; then to Calais; to British sector in Doullens, France; transferred to American sector; to the Argonne; saw active service; left winter base on March 31, 1919; sailed for home from Brest in May, 1919; landed at Hoboken, New Jersey; discharged at Camp Dix in June, 1919. He is a Mason; belongs to Cromwell Lodge No. 572, Orbisonia, Pa. Prefers the Republican party in politics. Has one brother, Harvey, married to Florence Van Zandt, Rock Hill, Pa. Sisters as follows: Fannie, married to W.S. Daub, Curwensville, Pa.; Laura, married to Isaac McClain, Orbisonia, Pa.; Ella, married to John Hileman, Three Springs, Pa.; Minnie, married to A.H. Breon, Freedom, Ohio; Elizabeth, married to J.R. Gilliland, Orbisonia, Pa.; Rebecca, a widow. Richard Heck was married to May Belle Zeiders, of Mifflintown, Pa.; one son, Richard, Jr., first year at school. Mr. Heck is one of Orbisonia's substantial citizens.
