M. HEFFNER Huntingdon, Pa. Automobile Dealer: A. M. Heffner was born at McConnellstown, Huntingdon Co., Pa., May 16, 1864; was raised on a farm. Began his early schooling at McConnellstown, Pa. A son of Peter Heffner, a farmer, who died in 1914, aged eighty-four, and of Mary (Stover) Heffner, who died in 1925, aged eighty-four, a daughter of Jacob and Hannah Stover. Mr. A. M. Heffner has been engaged in various pursuits in life; a salesman for a nursery; also sold shoes, boots, etc. Sold farm implements, mowers and binders; has followed carpentering for years. He was a guard at the Pennsylvania Industrial Reformatory for twenty-three years; commenced business in 1918 handling a line of accessories, gas, oils, etc. In 1923 took on the agency of Paige automobiles, and specializes in this car; also handles accessories. He has been Supervisor, Auditor, Secretary Smithfield township, Judge of Election. Belongs to the Abbey Reformed Church; his wife also. In politics generally Republican. He has brothers and sisters: William W., married to Maggie Geyer, McConnelstown, Pa.; Martha, Huntingdon, Pa.; Emma, married to Chas. Garner, Marklesburg, Pa. A. M. Heffner was married to Mary Jane Fritchey, who died May 28, 1911. The children are Samuel H., married to Meda Calhoun; Edward P., with his father in business; Anna C., at home, with the F.L. Myers Drug Company, office work; John W., Pay Roll Auditor for the Travelers' Insurance Company, New York City. Mr. Heffner remarried to Margaret Meckbach, Huntingdon, Pa. Note: Andrew (37), Mary J. (36), Samuel (11), Adward [Edward] (7), Anna C. (4) and John S. (2) Heffner appear in the 1900 Smithfield, Huntingdon County census.
