JOHN ADRILE HERRITT Three Springs, Pa. Methodist Episcopal Minister: Born on January 25, 1895, at Jersey Shore, Pa. Early schooling in public schools of Jersey Shore, Pa. Son of Judson Herritt, who died in 1912, aged sixty-two years, and of Sarah Elizabeth (Hoffman) Herritt, who died in 1913, fifty-two years of age. A Williamsport, Dickinson Seminary man, 1923. First charge at Trout Run; second charge at Harveyville, Luzerne County, Pa. Was manager of campmeeting at Patterson's Grove, Harveyville, Luzerne County, Pa. During the World War was civilian clerk in the Quartermaster General's office, Washington, D.C., from 1917 to 1920. Belongs to I.O.O.F., No. 788, Harveysville, Luzerne County, Pa. A Republican. Sisters are: Miss Cora Herrit, Jersey Shore, Pa., and Mrs. Clara Freace, deceased. He was married to Louise Mengee, Jersey Shore, Pa. Children are Kenneth La Rue, thirteen years; Doris Edith, eight years; Richard Judson, six years; Dale Adrile, aged four; John Roman, aged two. The three former named are attending school. Rev. Herritt expounds the gospel in its true light , and is a good citizen, beneficial to any community. Has the respect of all. A quiet, unassuming man, has the confidence of his congregation, and has in a great measure tended to elevate the morals of mankind.
