Treasurer of Huntingdon County, Pa.: It's simply a toss-up to determine the residence of John Kennedy Itinger. Both Alexandria and Huntingdon claim him. Be that as it may, John Kennedy Itinger was born at Alexandria, September 10, 1886, and at Alexandria was introduced to the early elements of an educational career. Harrison Itinger was his father, who died in 1923, the mother's maiden name being Alice Alva Nelson; she died in 1928. The father was of English and Irish extraction; the mother of French and Netherland descent. The American Tech then occupied his attention for further advanced education, and for a period of time a telegraph operator and clerk for the Penna. R.R.; also the mercantile business; as Justice of the Peace he showed no favors. Has served as Borough Auditor of Alexandria; this leads us to the office he assumed as Deputy County Treasurer and Acting County Treasurer, and in the election of Treasurer in 1927 was elected by a handsome majority. As Treasurer the office is conducted in a business-like manner. He is a Trustee of the Alexandria Presbyterian Church and a member of the New Era Bible Class of the Presbyterian Sunday School, Huntingdon, Pa. Served in Mexican Border Service, 8th Penna. Inf., National Guard,; also 108th Machine Gun Battalion, 55th Inf. Brigade; 28th Division (The Iron Division), Lieutenant Officers Reserve Corps.
