JACKSON McAlevy's Fort, Huntingdon Co., Pa. Service Station: Clarence E. Jackson was born at Newton Hamilton, Mifflin Co., Pa., February 20, 1872, a son of Dr. Wm. Jackson, M.D., who practiced in Huntingdon, Pa., for twenty years, dying in 1888, and Elizabeth (Morrison) Jackson, who died in 1912. Clarence E. Jackson began his schooling at Huntingdon, Pa.; attended Juniata College for two terms; was a farmer for four years; accepted a position with the American Telephone and Telegraph Company, installing offices; also with the Western Union Telegraph Company. This required expert workmanship on his part, which he was capable of rendering. He has served on election board; he belongs to the Masonic Fraternity, No. 636, Manual, Brooklyn, N.Y.; a member of the Retail Gasoline Dealers Association, and a Democrat in politics. He has one sister, Jennie, of Philadelphia, Pa. Clarence E. Jackson was married to Claudia Bigelow, a daughter of the late Dr. Bigelow, of McAlevy's Fort, Huntingdon Co., Pa. Mr. Jackson comes from an ancestry that dates back many years. At present he conducts a restaurant and confectionery business; also retails gasoline, oils, etc. He has been very successful along this line, catering to a large local and tourist trade.
