W. JACOBS Proprietor William Penn Inn William Penn Inn: E. W. Jacobs was born at Shirleysburg, Pa. A son of John Jacobs, who died in 1911, and Isabel (Peterson) Jacobs, a daughter of Isabella and Robert Peterson, who died in 1900. E. W. Jacobs has spent twenty-six years in the hotel business; six years at Mifflin and Mifflintown until 1909. The National House at Huntingdon, Pa., until 1913; at Altoona White Hall Hotel to 1916; then to Harrisburg, Pa., until 1920; to Dillsburg for three years. In 1925 took over the Eby farm; 295 acres; sold cottage sites, farming lots, etc. The farm house was remodeled to conform with Mr. Jacobs' ideas. It is beautifully arranged and has all modern conveniences. During the World War Mr. Jacobs was at Harrisburg, engaged in hotel business. He belongs to the Elks, No. 976, Huntingdon, Pa.; a charter member of L.O.O.M. Has one sister, Annie B., married to Hal Lightner, Postmaster at Shirleysburg, Pa. Three brothers, Albert, married to Jennie Jones, Lewistown, Pa.; John F., married to Lida Mays, Altoona, Pa., with Penna. R.R.; Harry, Shirleysburg, Pa. Three brothers are deceased: George E., Lowry R., and Warren Roy, formerly Burgess of Huntingdon, Pa. E. W. Jacobs was married to C. May Harrison, a daughter of William and Catharine Harrison, of Franklin County, Pa. Mr. Jacobs conducts a first class tourist hotel, cheerful and home-like place; accommodations for automobiles.
