Barber: Frank Jenkins, the third son of the late John Jenkins, was born November 13, 1882, and raised in Mount Union, Pa. The family resided for thirteen years on Pennsylvania Avenue. His home is now located on Jefferson street, where they have resided for twenty-two years. He attended the public school of Mount Union, Pa., after which he was in the employ of the Harbison-Walker Refractories Company for a period of six years. He then began to learn the barbering business with his brother Charles, where he is at present engaged at his chosen profession. For a time he was engaged at Altoona, Pa., following his trade, and also at Lewistown, Pa. He has one sister, Bessie; she is deceased; died at the age of thirty-three years; Annie resides at home. He is an active member of the Methodist Episcopal church, the Sunday School, and other activities. His fraternity consists of membership in the P.O.S. of A., the Maccabees, and the Sons of Veterans, when the latter named was active along patriotic lines. In politics he clings to the Republican party, and in local affairs is independent. He is for the betterment of conditions as pertain to Mount Union, and lends his efforts in its behalf. The three brothers are total abstainers from the use of intoxicating drinks, and also the use of tobacco in any form. Frank Jenkins is faithful in the performance of his profession and well respected in the community.
