Stenographer: Miss Susan Jones was born at Alexandria, Pa., of Welsh-German parentage. She is the daughter of William W. Jones, who was a saddler at Alexandria practically all his life, except for the time he was enlisted in the service of his country. He was a Civil War veteran, in a Pennsylvania regiment, and died in 1909, at the age of seventy-two years. He married Anne S. Piper, who died in 1928, at the advanced age of eighty-nine years. Miss Susan attended the Alexandria public schools, and later graduated from the Philadelphia Business College. She has been with the Stowe-Fuller Refractories Company for the past eighteen years, and is thoroughly conversant with the details of this office. She has three brothers: Harry, Alexandria, Pa.; Charles, Baltimore, Md.; Ard, Alexandria, Pa., a widower. Two brothers are deceased: Alfred, who died at the age of thirty-six years; John P., at the age of sixty years. She has three sisters: Ora, Alexandria, Pa.; Elizabeth, married to Peter Thompson, Pasadena, California, a dairyman; Elsie, Pittsburgh, Pa.
