The father was a carpenter. Was a saw miller for Clearfield Lumber Co.; also Babcock Lumber Co.; was freight conductor for Penna R.R. for twenty-six years; at present is in the State Department of Labor and Industry; appointed two years ago. Located at Huntingdon, Pa. Has been Assessor, Fifth Ward, Altoona, Pa., and Constable for four years at Altoona, Pa. Belongs to Methodist Church; also wife and family. During the World War was with the Penna. R.R. He is a member of the P.O.S. of A., Juniata Camp; Brotherhood of R.R. Trainmen; Penna. R.R. Relief; State retirement fund. He has four brothers: Jesse, Indiana Co.; Lex, Clearfield Co.,; Paul, U.S. Navy; Ralph, Ohio; Thomas, Santiago, Colon, Battleship Pennsylvania. Charles Kimes was married to Sarah Bell Breth. They have two sons, Donald J. and Charles B., at home. Two daughters, Maruy [Mary] Emma, married to Emil Fauth, Altoona, Pa., employed with Penna R.R.; Grace Edna, married to Homer Streitiff, Altoona, Pa. with Penna. R.R.
