GEORGE H. KNOX Cassville, Huntingdon County, Pa. Methodist Episcopal Minister: Was born at York, Pa., April 1, 1866. A son of John and Annie E. (Hibener) Knox, deceased, York County, Pa. Rev. George H. Knox, after a preliminary education at York, Pa., attended Temple College, Philadelphia, Pa., followed by Dickinson College, Carlisle, Pa.; also at the Bible School, Home Study, at Newton Hamilton, Pa., formerly held at Eagles Mere, Pa. He has held various pastorates. He was at Munson, Clearfield County, Pa., for three years; Blain, Perry County, Pa., three years; Osceola Mills, Pa., three years; also York, Pa., Marrysville [Marysville], Pa., and Philadelphia, Pa. At present he is the pastor at Tough Creek Valley; resides at Cassville. During World War he was at the Blain, Pa., charge. He is a member of the P.O.S. of A. of New Germantown, Perry County, Pa. A Republican. One brother deceased; also one sister, Della, deceased. He was married to Mary E. Kauffman, a daughter of Amos and Susan Kauffman. They have two sons: Paul, a World War veteran, married to Pearl Shull, New Cumberland, Pa.; John R., at home; Stanley is deceased; was in World War; Wilbur is deceased; died in 1921, at the age of twelve years. Two daughters: Bessie, conducts a beauty parlor, Harrisburg, Pa., married to Albert Seilheimer; Ruth, married to Warren Shumaker, an accountant at Washington, D.C., in government service.
