Service Station: Thomas Laughlin was born at McConnellstown, Pa., January 23, 1902. A son of Edgar Laughlin, a carpenter, and of Grace (Bupp) Laughlin; both reside at McConnellstown, Pa. Thomas Laughlin received his education at McConnellstown, Pa. He followed various pursuits in life. In 1928 he opened to the public a service station, dealing in gasoline, oils, etc.; also light lunch, besides confectionery, ice cream and pastry, tourists' and campers' supplies. He as well as his wife belongs to the Methodist Church of McConnellstown, Pa. During the World War he was with the Huntingdon and Broad Top R.R. He belongs to the Knights of Malta, Huntingdon, Pa., No. 475, a Sir Knight Commander. He is a Democrat in politics. Has three brothers: Jay, Altoona, Pa.; Earl, at home; Ernest, married to Janet Whitzel; they reside at McConnellstown, Pa. Thomas Laughlin was married to Samantha Lloyd, a daughter of Lemuel Lloyd; the father is deceased, the mother residing at McConnellstown, Pa.
