LIGHTNER Huntingdon, Pa. Truck Driver: He was born in Huntingdon, Huntingdon County, Pa. On July 21, 1899, he began his early schooling at the Second Ward School at Huntingdon, Pa., and later attended the High School. He was a P.R.R. brakeman for eight years and a truck driver for three years. He served in the World War, having enlisted at Huntingdon, Pa., and then left for Hancock, Ga.; to Co. F, 28th Division, 112th Inf.; then to Camp Upton; left for overseas on (Aquitania) for Liverpool, England; thence to Dover, England; to Calais, France, to Lombres, France; assigned to what was then known as the "Checker Board" Division, combined with British troops; was in action in Annaviers sector for two months; was gassed; saw twenty-two months' service, and was discharged from service at Camp Dix. He is affiliated with the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen; the A.F. & A.M., St. Johns, Huntingdon, Pa., No. 34. He has four brothers: Jesse, a foreman in Huntingdon Specialty Company; Harry, in ice business; Louis, of Huntingdon, Pa., and Roy, a member of the National Guards; he is a foreman for the Huntingdon Specialty Co. His parentage is John D., deceased and Ida (Rudy) Lightner. George H. Lightner was married to Hermina Hefright; they have taken up their residence in a newly furnished apartment at 325 Penn street.
