Merchant: Harrison Locke was born in Locke's Valley, Huntingdon County, Pa. March 11, 1861. A son of William and Rosanna (Ramsey) Locke. William Locke was born August 18, 1831, and died December 8, 1920. He farmed all his life, owning a farm of 340 acres. His wife was born in April, 1835; died Sept. 10, 1886. She was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ramsey. William Locke was a Civil War veteran 205th Penna. Vol. Inf. Harrison Locke was educated at Locke's Valley and at Milnwood Academy, Shade Gap, Pa.; taught school at Locke's Valley. He has been engaged in the mercantile business for thirty- four years. Mr. Locke succeeded Silas Cutshall as postmaster, which office has been abandoned; he has served as school director in Springfield township, Huntingdon County, Pa. A Republican in politics. Brothers are: Albert, married to Emma Magee, now residing in Orbisonia, Pa.; Clay, married to Anna Wible, Shade Gap, Pa.; Ray, married to Anna Mills, Bellwood, Pa.; Allan, married to Emma Nead, Lakemont, Blair County, Pa.; Newton, Alfred, and Selen are deceased. Sisters are: Mary Ellen, married to Daniel Ferrenberg, Centre Union, Huntingdon Co., Pa.; Amanda A., married to David Carlin, of Shade Gap, Pa., and Rosilla, married to Nicholas Park, Altoona, Pa. Harrison Locke was married to Sarah E. Gutshall, who died in 1889. Their children are: Charles H., deceased, January 18, 1929; Carrie Bell, married to Harry Park, Three Springs, Pa. Mr. Locke remarried to Laura Brubaker, daughter of Emanuel and Mary Brubaker, of Fort Littleton, Fulton County, Pa. Note: Harrison Locke, 3-11-1861 - 4-23-1940. His 1st wife Sarah Ellen Gutshall, 10 Aug 1857 - 28 Apr 1899, not 1889 as in the bio. This information is from her tombstone at the Old School Baptist Church, Springfield Twp.
