Physician: Born at Dublin Mills, Fulton County, Pa., January 19, 1887. Received his preliminary education at the public schools of Orbisonia, Pa. A son of Henry B. and Rosa Belle (Gutshall) Locke. The mother died May 2, 1927; she was previously from Springfield Township, Huntingdon County, Pa. Dr. Locke taught school for two years; one year at Enyeart's, Cromwell Township, and one year at Rockhill, Cromwell Township. Enrolled at Dickinson Seminary; later matriculated at Medico-Chirurgical College, Philadelphia; received his degree in 1911. He practiced for eighteen years at Orbisonia, Pa. He served two terms on school board; is a Republican. Belongs to Cromwell Lodge, Masonic, Orbisonia, Pa. A Shriner of Jaffa Temple, Altoona, Pa. One sister, Olive Gertrude Locke Rankin, died in 1905. Dr. Locke was married to Mayme Kathryn Comeror, at McConnellsburg, Fulton County, Pa. Children are: Howard, Jr., thirteen; Radford C., nine; Gwendolyn G., six. He is a member of the Juniata Valley Country Club. Hunting, golf, and fishing occupy his spare time. He has been a successful physician, and his practice extends over a large territory. Dr. Locke is one of Orbisonia's leading citizens, ever ready at all times to lend a helping hand in all that tends to uplift and is for the betterment of the community at large.
