Proprietor Strand Theatre and Postal Telegraph Manager: He was born at Snow Shoe, Centre County, Pa. and at Snow Shoe received his preliminary education; was born September 22, 1879. James Irwin Lucas was his father, his mother being Clara (Gorsuch) Lucas, of Huntingdon, Pa.; American born. Attended Juniata College, 1898 and 1899; taught school at Snow Shoe, Centre County, in Snow Shoe Township, for two years. Was ticket agent at McKeesport, Pa., for nine years; freight agent and operator for eight years. At present is Postal Telegraph Manager at Orbisonia, Pa; proprietor of Strand Theatre, Orbisonia, Pa. opened to public July 4, 1917. Has served as Judge of Election at Orbisonia, Pa; conducted bakery at Orbisonia; belongs to Chamber of Commerce. Is a Methodist; a Democrat in politics. Composed, edited and published a booklet entitled "Why," a six-day diary of the year. Copyrighted on the health-building forces of nature; sells at twenty-five cents per copy. Three brothers: David B., Clearfield, Pa.; Harry F., Pittsburgh, Pa.; James I., Blairsville, Pa. Sisters: Marion, married to J.C. Robinson, Norwalk, Ohio; Esther A., Blairsville, deceased. He was married to Margaret Myers, of McKeesport, Pa. A busy man is Mr. Lucas and also very successful. As proprietor of the Strand Theatre he aims to present to the public pictures that appeal to his patrons. The theatre is well arranged, with exits, etc.
