Machinist: Born in Barree Township, Huntingdon County, Pa., September 30, 1876. Early schooling at Barree Township, known as Masseysburg School; he was born on a farm; town named after the Masseys. They were Quakers. Mordecai Massey was an attorney at Huntingdon, Pa. He had a room carpeted with deer skins; was a great hunter; died in 1876. They originally came from Philadelphia, Pa. The father of Harry Massey was Reuben Massey, who owned a farm; a farmer all his life; also a distiller; died in 1889 at the age of sixty-seven. His mother was Elizabeth (Bell) Massey, who died in 1893 at the age of seventy-three. Harry Massey attended Juniata College in 1899. Has been with the following construction companies: C. A. Sims and Company, American Bridge Company and F. H. Clemment Companies. At present is a machinist at the Warrior Ridge plant of the Penn Central Light and Power Company; has been machinist for eleven years; engineer for two years; superintendent of plant for four and one-half years. Commenced with the company in 1905 as master mechanic. He belongs to the I.O.O.F., No. 1162, Petersburg, Pa. He was married to Anna Miller, a daughter of James H. and Susan Miller, both deceased, of Huntingdon County, Pa. Hunting and fishing are his pastimes, when game is in season. A good citizen; was a councilman of Petersburg borough. He lives at present at Warrior Ridge, where the plant is located, and by which he is employed.
