O. J. MAY, Ph.D. Huntingdon, Pa. Minister, Christian Missionary Alliance: The Rev. O.J. May was born at Corning, New York, November 8, 1885, of Scotch-Irish descent, a race of people well known for their sturdy qualities. He is a son of Frederick W. May, who died in 1927; he was married to Inez Wood; she resides at Savona, New York. Rev. O.J. May attended the public schools of Olean, New York, and later on the schools of Painted Post, New York, after which he attended the Bible Training School at Nyack, New York, receiving the degree of Ph.D., and in order to advance his educational career, attended the Cincinnati Bible Institute. He was formerly a mechanical engineer at Corning, New York. During the World War he was on the draft board of Tioga County, New York. In politics he prefers the Republican party. He was married to Daisy B. Weller, a daughter of Smith and Elsie Weller. His father fought in the Mexican War under General Taylor. Rev. and Mrs. May have four sons: Morris F., fourteen years; Verner L., eleven years; Charles B., eight years; Paul R., six years of age, all at school. One daughter, Marleah, married to Kenneth Lanton, a foreman at Endicott, New York. She is a graduate of the Endicott High School. Rev. May has been successful in his efforts to put new life and leadership in this, his profession. The church has gained in membership and its influence covers a wide field.
