Merchant: At Robertsdale and Woodvale, Huntingdon Co., Pa. Was born at New Grenada, Fulton Co., Pa. Attended the Pine Grove School; a son of Jesse O. McClain, of New Grenada, aged eighty-six years. Ellen McClain, his mother, is deceased. Norman McClain is the captain of industry in this section; conducts two business emporiums; has departments that include groceries, clothing, furniture, shoes and furnishings of all kinds. They are known as the McClain Stores, long established, around the year 1914; is also interested in the Altoona Packing Co., Altoona, Pa. He has served on school and election board. Belongs to the Masonic Fraternity and to its various bodies. To quote from his own words, was born a Democrat, but usually votes Republican. Attends the Fifteenth Street Methodist Church, Huntingdon, Pa. Owns a beautiful home, one square away from the church above named. Is a Rotarian; plays golf, but not extensively; does not report his score. Eleven children composed his parental home. Following are living at various places: S. A. McClain, Youngstown, Ohio; W. W. McClain, Three Springs, Pa.; H. C. McClain, Altoona, Pa.; Jessie B. McClain, New Grenada, Pa., and John A. McClain, Carlisle, Pa. Six children are deceased. Norman Leslie McClain was married to Jessie E. Henry. Sons and daughters are: Leslie C.; Robert S., fifteen years; Richard W., eleven years; Norman L., Jr., eight years, and Betty Louise, six years. Mr. McClain is enjoying the fruits of his success. He has an office in the Union National Bank Building.
